Established in 1988, the Community Parent Center is Bellmore-Merrick's resource center for quality parent and community education programs addressing substance and alcohol abuse prevention, bullying/ harassment and youth violence prevention, and safe teen driving. Focusing on parenting issues and family wellness, the Center is committed to working with local parent and community organizations to bring parents information, resources and the opportunity to be part of a supportive parent network.

The Community Parent Center provides a wide range of workshops on a variety of other topics including: healthy lifestyles and activities, discipline, sibling rivalry, self esteem, peer pressure, communication, stress reduction and getting ready for middle school.

More American teenagers’ deaths are caused by vehicle accidents than any other cause, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. At the Community Parent Center we are committed to taking a proactive approach to helping teen drivers stay safe. The Parent Center offers the program, Driving in the Safe Lane.

The Center and its services are available to families with children grades Pre K-12. As a non-profit community based organization, the Community Parent Center continuously strives to expand and enhance its programs and services offered throughout the year. All of our speakers and facilitators are credentialed professionals. These programs are funded through the generous support of people like you. Financial donations from individual community members, local businesses and organizations are deeply appreciated. Please help us to continue bringing quality programs to Bellmore-Merrick and communities across Nassau County. Send your donation.

Your help and support enables us to meet the ever growing needs of families across Nassau County and to provide the quality educational programs that address health and safety issues of concern to parents and their children.
